I started blogging way back in the dark ages of the early 2000s. I was in law school and I needed a creative outlet from the relentlessly boring reading we were assigned in class. I was inspired by a Harvard law school blogger who was really funny - I haven’t kept up with him but I think he may have gotten a book deal shortly out of law school. Myself, on the other hand, got a job in a small law firm which took up most of my time, and my new side gig was knitting. A knitting blog was born shortly thereafter. This was before facebook or twitter or even ravelry - so the blog mostly consisted of really short posts about whatever I was knitting at the moment and a photo of my work in progress.
Time went on and I had kids and less time to knit or blog, but I kept it going for a few more years, before finally admitting that I didn’t have time to keep it in a a way that made sense. Pinterest was huge in the craft-blog world which meant that blogs had to have great photos and graphics to keep up. I wasn’t really looking to monetize my little hobby blog, so I shut it down in 2015.
After 5 quiet years, I’m dipping my toe back into the online writing world. My plan is to compile a list of little things I’m enjoying during this very strange time in life and hopefully it will bring you a little joy, too.
Because this is the way we met, I'm so glad to see you writing again! So thankful for you. Excited to read what you're up to!
